Frame Wizard

The Frame Wizard is a plugin, available from the Tools menu and the New Documents window.  It aids in quickly generating frames document.

Although this wizard is available from both the Tools menu and the New Documents window, the recommended way to use this wizard is via the New Documents window. When completing the wizard from the New Documents window, Spider Writer will create a new document with frames tags in the proper location on the page, whereas when it is run from the Tools menu, it will insert the frame tags at the current cursor location. When running the wizard from the Tools menu, be sure to have the cursor in the correct place in your HTML document where you want the frames code to be inserted.

Frameset Template Selection

The wizard's first step, Frameset Template Selection, provides an easy way for you to pick your initial frame layout from a selection of popular frame arrangements.  Spider Writer provides a number of templates for you to select from.  If you would like to design your frameset from scratch, choose the blank template.  As you select different templates, the templates are displayed visually.  Once you pick a template to use, if any, press the Next button to move to the Frameset Construction step.

Frameset Contruction

The second step is the Frameset Construction. If you had chosen a frameset template, it is visually displayed in the wizard's window.  To split a frame, move your mouse to where you want to insert the division and left-click to insert a horizontal division or right-click to insert a vertical division.  It's fast, easy and completely visual.  No need to fool around with strange interfaces or manual frameset definition.  If you would like to start over constructing your frameset, press the Clear button.  Once you are satisfied with how your frameset looks, press the Next button to continue.

Frame Attributes

The final step, Frame Attributes, allows you to specify the attributes of the frames.  Click on a frame to select it.  Then modify the attributes for the frame.  Once you have done this for all frames, press the Finish button to generate the frameset.
